Cannot edit word press pages. Please help!

  • its June 2017. I have searched the forums. Nothing like my problem and dating back to earlier versions of WP. After a few months break I come to add a new page and some media. Everything is updated. I have turned off all my plugins to be sure.
    I add a new page, It lets me put a title, a feature images, save etc. But I cannot edit the page at all. any text is hidden, unless i highlight it. I cannot select Text. it is stuck on Visual tab. I click on Add Media, the window will not open. I have tried various browsers. Nothing. It is completely crippled. I even tried reinstalling the current word press. Has anyone else had this problem? i’m working on an IMac. i don’t know where to even start to fix this as it has never happened before. PS I can add media to Library, but cannot access library from new pages

  • Have you tried switching to the default theme (Twentyseventeen) to rule out any theme related issues? If so, have you tried logging in on a different computer to rule out a client-based issue?

    Cheers. i’ll check the security issues. I had a big drama last year when i had my site hosted on dodgy server but I got those issues resolved..
    i’ll try another computer
