This plugin very nicely solved a problem I had, by redirecting a url to another url.

Then I changed the url of the target page, but it keeps redirecting to the old url, even after I updated the redirect.

? I have cleared my browser cache
? I have deleted the redirect and created a new one
? I have deleted the plugin entirely, reinstalled it, and created the redirect again.

It still redirects to the old url of the first redirect I created. It’s like it’s permanently written to my database. Can we please fix this? What am I doing wrong?

If you have changed the redirect in Redirection then it is not redirecting you still. Certainly if you deleted the plugin it’s not performing the redirect.

It is likely a cache somewhere, or something else is performing the redirect.

Without knowing the URL I can’t give any definite answer.

The original redirect is https://www.bucksawcreative.com/account to https://www.bucksawcreative.com/diy-guide-dashboard

The new redirect is https://www.bucksawcreative.com/account to https://www.bucksawcreative.com/diy-guide

All I did was remove “dashboard” from the url.

Any advice on clearing cache? More steps than I have already done?

    Thanks for the help.

    Your redirect is working correctly:

    https://redirect.li/http/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bucksawcreative.com%2Faccount

You should clear your browser cache to get the latest redirect.

I manually typed in the url into my browser:
https://www.bucksawcreative.com/account and you are correct, it redirects to https://www.bucksawcreative.com/diy-guide as desired.

    However:

I am using the EasyCart plugin to create a members-only area of my site. EasyCart creates a login page, but I used the Redirection plugin to redirect to a page of my choice instead of the default Account page also created by EasyCart.

The EasyCart login page has somehow permanently retained the first redirect url I created. When logging in, it still redirects to the first url. I tested this on someone else’s computer on an entirely different browser.

My bandaid solution is to create yet another redirect from the incorrect url. So the page redirects twice now before landing on the desired page. This will work for now.

I’m sure the Redirection plugin is just doing it’s job, but when combined with EasyCart, something happened that now can’t be changed. Just a heads up for future development. If you have any suggestions I am all ears.

Just following up on this. There was another setting I missed that was redirecting the page. For anyone reading this, the Redirection plugin is working just fine and doing it’s job. Cheers!
