Since I upgraded to ver 4.3., I am unable to edit pages on my site. The page editor just shows a completely blank area where my text etc should be. I have tried deactivating all plug-ins – no effect. I have tried switching to another theme (I currently use 2010, but changed to 2015 and then to Simplicity) – no effect. I switched on debug mode, but no errors were shown. I then switched on my browser’s debugging function and saw this message: “Failed to load: https://www.mysitename.co.uk/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wptextpattern/plugin.min.js” Now, I cannot access this folder (wptextpattern) by FTP and when I look, it has permissions set to ’00’ – which I cannot change. All used to work well until the upgrade, so I am suspecting this is something to do with that rather than anything my ISP has done. But I am at a bit of a loss and would be grateful for any suggestions/assistance.

Monique33: As your problem is a little different to the one being discussed here, you would probably have more luck starting your own topic, with a suitably descriptive title so that others can find it more easily.

    Hey Michael,
I followed your suggestion and deactivated visual composer. I still wasn’t able to edit that page, which is the only one I’m having issues with. It keeps hanging and doesn’t load.

I also FTP into my site directory but I don’t see a folder named “js”. All I see it two folders:

    public_html
    stats

You need to expand the folder ‘public_html’. Under it, you should find your WP root folder and then a folder called ‘wp-includes’. Expand that one too. You need to check the folder within it called ‘js’ (and all sub-folders). For good measure, repeat this process with the folder wp-content > plugins. Permissions need to be 644 at a minimum, or higher. Also check that you are shown as the ‘owner’ of these folders – your FTP client should show you this info. Have you tried deleting the problem page and re-creating it from new?

Incidentally, if you follow the link you quoted (https://cse.google.com/cse/cse.js?cx=3666861910616905:3axwej-lkhd) you get an error report from Google that says: “Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request.” That will pull WP up in its tracks. It’s kind of steering me towards the plug-in…do the makers have a support site?

Still having the same program. Here is exact error code output

PLEASE HELP ASAP, THIS SEEMS O BE THE RIHT POST FOR THE 4.3.1.

I cannot edit in the dasboard, my page looks blank in VISUAL however TEXT is there, I tried everything you recommended. It’s not a bug but it seems that is WP however I did change THEMES, deactivated plug ins, ect., I tried to contact WP but there is not way to do that. the only way is through this posts but my problem is slightly different because Im already using 4.3.1. and it was wrking ok until yesterday.

I tried diferent computers MAC and Windows, Ipad, Iphne and it is only WP that is being too slow and not working (a tried everything and everything else is ok) PLEASE HELP…..

I just started having the exact same problem as Jon Delsnyder today. It worked fine yesterday, but starting today I cannot view any posts in “visual mode”, only in text view. I am also using 4.3.1.

This happens on all computers that I try and different browsers. I too have tried to reinstall wordpress, disabled all plugins with no luck. I switched themes as well. Very odd as it worked fine just yesterday with no since then.

Please see my (the) first and second posts in this thread. Those folder permissions are definitely worth checking.

Hi – first time forum post and having similar problem with 4.3.1 in terms of running Enfold theme.

My web-page https://www.suavecollective.co.uk (active about 18 months although not recently updated) was about to undergo a major revamp and I now find I cant amend anything on the pages. When I go to edit page – I just get a ‘loading’ circle that doesn’t load no matter how long I wait. If I change theme I only have a basic layout (Avia advanced layout seems to have disappeared) without WP slider (which strangely enough I can edit in Enfold) – I’d rather stay with Enfold as I’m not a code-writer or web designer in any way, and in truth no little about what I’m really doing.

I cant find my browsers de-bugger or my folder permissions (not really sure where to start looking either).

    Sorry just a complete techno-duffer!

We just updated our website as well. https://www.dsj.org.

Has there been any solution to this issue? My site is working fine externally but after logging in to edit on the back-end my site takes approximately 2.5 min to load per page and the visual and text mode is not visible.

Our phpMyAdmin on the webserver is version 4.0.10.8
    Apache/2.2.15 (CentOS)
Database client version: libmysql – 5.1.73

Here’s screen shot to my edit page.
    https://www.dsj.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Updte-Issue.jpg

I’m having the same problem of not being able to edit a page as #1 in this thread. My PHP ver is 5.4.43 and my Enfold version is 3.0.4.
It was working fine, I made some revisions and then I couldn’t get the page to come back up, and now I can’t edit anything.
Please help – I’m not a programmer but I follow directions well!

@kathyfishback: This is not your topic. It is also 9 months old, references an old version of WordPress & has been marked as resolved If you require assistance then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.
