Since I upgraded to ver 4.3., I am unable to edit pages on my site. The page editor just shows a completely blank area where my text etc should be. I have tried deactivating all plug-ins – no effect. I have tried switching to another theme (I currently use 2010, but changed to 2015 and then to Simplicity) – no effect. I switched on debug mode, but no errors were shown. I then switched on my browser’s debugging function and saw this message: “Failed to load: https://www.mysitename.co.uk/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wptextpattern/plugin.min.js” Now, I cannot access this folder (wptextpattern) by FTP and when I look, it has permissions set to ’00’ – which I cannot change. All used to work well until the upgrade, so I am suspecting this is something to do with that rather than anything my ISP has done. But I am at a bit of a loss and would be grateful for any suggestions/assistance.

I had to get my host to change permissions and ownership on this file and folder which, it appears, was created by the upgrade.

i am having a same issue, here is the screen short: https://copy.com/ufKK0QpO4E7UMbNf

@lotusleaf9: Yes. I used Firefox (Tools > Web Developer > Debugger) to get a precise error report.

I pulled up the Debugger and this is the message I got when I select a page to edit with visual composer.

“This source is black boxed: its breakpoints are disabled, and stepping skips through it.”

    “Stop black boxing this source”

    What does all that mean?

It means the code is not being evaluated – you need to hit the ‘Stop black-boxing…’ option to let it ‘step- through’ that code and give you the results.

Okay I used the developer tools in Chrome.

What am I looking for in the source output?
This output has around 6000 lines of code.

Here’s a short video of what I am experience with the page edit:

You should be looking for any line that starts ‘Failed to….’. What happens if you just use the normal ‘edit’ link instead of the ‘edit with visual composer’ link?

Oh – an uplift to ver 4.3.1. has just come out. Looks like it may (possibly) address your issue.

I got the new wp update, but that didn’t help solve the issue am having.

I’m presently getting this log from developer tools console in chrome:

https://cse.google.com/cse/cse.js?cx=3666861910616905:3axwej-lkhd Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request)

I am having the same problem as outlined by “otusleaf9” in post No. 3.

Approximately 2 weeks ago I followed Otto’s procedure and (with a little massaging from our host provider) we got back online. This morning WordPress “automatically” updated our site to 4.3.1. Since then we can not edit any previous posts. We can commence a new post but as soon as we try to Save or Publish the new post, the material in the edit window disappears and we cannot return to the post to “edit” it. Serious issue! I have tried Firefox and IE with no difference. The site loads ok and nothing is missing – but we cannot use the Dashboard as described above. Site is https://www.mavensnotebook.com

Re Post #13. Resolved. The problem was a conflict with plugin “WP short code”.

lotusleaf9: That is looking like some sort of plug-in error, at a guess. Can you try deactivating the visual composer plug-in, then trying to edit just using the standard/native WordPress edit function? What happens if you do that? Firstly, does your error disappear and second, is editing possible? Also, FTP to your site and check permissions on the ‘js’ folder (and any sub-folders) within Wp-includes. You need to try and narrow down the source of the error so you know which specific area needs looking at.

Hey guys, I have a problem using the page builder. I want to make a new page on the website. When I want to upload some content and start saving it, the pages keep loading and loading and loading. Anybody knows what the problem is? What should be a simple matter, has become a time consuming business now ??
I am new to building pages and this forum as well. So not sure where to post this but I am sure you can let me know ??

    Thanks in advance.
