Themify upgraded the theme and now it seems to work again.
Excellent, thanks for sharing your solution!
But this completely sidesteps the fact that the upgrade BROKE this feature
Not necessarily, I’m not having the reported problem on any of my blogs, so the upgrade didn’t break the feature. This is pretty much why everyone is welcome to try the Beta and Release Candidate builds available up to a month before the final release, especially theme and plugin developers.
I use WooThemes’ Canvas for one site, which wasn’t cheap. . . Blaming this on themes is like blaming the world financial collapse on the pensioners.
So, think about that for a second. ?? WordPress is free software developed by volunteers, WooThemes Canvas is a $119 theme developed by employees of WooThemes. Which one do you think is more responsible to try the freely available Beta builds before the final release and correct any issues they encounter?
You can present the issue to WooThemes via https://support.woothemes.com/hc/en-us
I started two very similar installations (same theme / different hosters) some days ago. One works, one works not.
Are there any plugin differences between the sites, or is the host the only difference?
