Hi having replaced the ultimate tinymec editor with wp edit, I decided to replace the tinymce widget plugin with wp editor widget (0.5.3). When I open the widget for editing, I cannot click in the visual editing area and i see no editing toolbar or icons. The add media link works, although I didn’t acstually try adding an image. I have deactivated the tinymce widget plugin.

    Hello nstratman!

Which version of WP are you using?
    Which web browser and OS?

Do you have any other plugins that somehow alter the editor in WP?

Have you tried to just temporarily deactivate any other plugins and clear the browser cache? Or test the plugin on the same setup but with another Theme?

Do you get any error messages in the browser?

Hi Thx for getting back promptly. Sorry, I should have given you more info in the first place. I’m running WP 3.9.1 on Firefox / Win 7 HP. I tried switching to WP 2012 theme which made no difference.

I’ve just deactivated all plugins except WP Edit and your plugin, and the problem disappears. So over the course of the next few days I’ll see if I can home in on which other plugin is causing the conflict.

It’s not operationally urgent, as the site supports the PC classes I run in my local community, and we are currently in recession.

    Regards, Neil

Hi, the plugin which is causing the conflict is WP Download Manager. In fact prior to switching to WP Edit and WP editor widget, I also recently got an error with Black Studio tinymce widget on a different site which was also caused by WP Download Manager. This is discussed in this thread.
The temporary fix will appear as a permanent update in a future release of WP Download Manager, but of course I can’t say if that fix is the same as required to fix the conflict with WP Editor Widget. I applied the fix to one of my other sites. In the next day or 2 I’ll try the same fix on the site I am reporting here to see if it fixes this issue too.

Ah. Ok. Did you try the latest version of WP Download Manager together with WP Editor Widget? (The same version of WP Download Manager that worked with Black Studio TinyMCE Widget?)
