Cannot edit homepage –

  • Website theme is “Sliding Door” By Wayne Connor.
    I have installed a “Child Theme” which points to the Sliding Door Theme.

    In the beginning, website was working fine. Yet for some time now, I cannot edit my website homepage / index page – page does not show up on the dashboard; when logged in and viewing home page, there is no edit option link [at the top of the page] nor does the rss feeds or page links update on the home page.

    I tried creating a new page and making it the static page but that didn’t work either.

    All other pages are working fine.

    Please advise.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
