    Hi!

I created a page using elementor adding my heading and a little text before adding the eventon shortcode, but now I can’t edit this page (at /events/) as no content area is found in elementor and it is stripped of the elementor CSS for the page, so the layout is all wrong. I’ve tried numerous things to no success, including going through the process again, purging caches, permalinks, resetting the Events Paging, and the template using edit or quick edit for the page. The main issue is that the content is full width, I can style the text sizes and colours myself. I have tried using a different url (/local-events/) and all looks fine, but links in the breadcrumb still lead to a redundant event archives page (basically a duplicate page).

I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me where I am going wrong, or point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks, Matt.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

    Please follow this instruction:

PROTIP: If the /events page does not work due to theme/plugin conflicts, create a new page, call it “Events Directory” Insert eventon shortcode and use that as your main events page which will have a URL ending like /events-directory. This would be a perfect solution if you have conflicts with /events slug.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. Yes, I had done that already, and have just done it again. at a different url /local-events/. This works fine and shows the events as configured – bar also showing past events which should be hidden. However, when I add an event, and go to view it, it shows at a completely different address, the original /events/ url which has been generated somehow.

So, I have the event I’ve added duplicated at: https://aylesbury.info/events/winter-wonderland-and-father-christmas/ as a single event. I turned off single event pages though I had thought, and am just using the sliding card to display details at https://aylesbury.info/local-events/

The newly created page also shows other unwanted, un-styled, generated pages such as organiser page at https://aylesbury.info/event-location/hartwell-nurseries/ as well as the /events/ page I was trying to change initially.

Any advice would be much appreciated, many thanks.

All EventON’s templates are custom made and can only be changed through code customizations.

For example, you should be able to customize Location pages by following: https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/customize-location-organizer-archive-page/

Unfortunately, you cannot Elementor and other page builders to change the templates.

Past events can be hidden by going to EventON > Time Settings > enable Hide past events for default calendar(s).

For Single Event pages you can change slug by following:

    https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/change-events-slug/
