Cannot edit CSS/PHP theme files

    Since updating, I cannot edit the theme CSS or PHP files, it just hangs and then I get the message:

    ‘Something went wrong. Your change may not have been saved. Please try again. There is also a chance that you may need to manually fix and upload the file over https://FTP.’

    I’ve tried deleting cookies/cache, logging back in and trying the same again and I get the same problem.

    Try deactivating all of your plugins to explore whether any could be responsible. If none are, keep all plugins deactivated and switch to the Twenty Seventeen theme to check whether it’s an issue with your theme.

    Thanks Andrew, that did the trick.

    For others’ reference it was the Medium plugin that was causing the issue so if anyone else has this problem then I suggest deactivating that first.
