Cannot display blog roll on custom wordpress site

I have created a custom WordPress site on Wamp server, with a view to moving it to my live server once it is finished. All my pages are working fine but I cannot get my blog to display posts on my blog page. The template is in place but the page is empty. This is my first custom site so I might have missed some php somewhere. If someone could tell me where I might have gone wrong that would be great!
