I am attempting to upgrade from MailPoet 2 to MailPoet 3 on a subsite of our University’s multisite network.

As soon as I activate MailPoet 3, I see the message “You’ve reached the 2,000 subscribers limit!” and “Delete unconfirmed subscribers to have less than 2,000 subscribers.”

MailPoet 3 created a list called “WordPress Users” with over 9,000 users. I cannot delete this list, and I cannot move any of the users on this list to the trash on the Subscribers page.

There are less than a dozen WordPress users on my site. However, there are over 9,000 users on our multisite network. I have no intention of ever sending a newsletter to any of these users.

The MailPoet knowledge base recommends deleting these users. I, of course, cannot delete these users from the WordPress multisite network because they are associated with other subsites.

It is fine, I suppose, if MailPoet wants to create this “WordPress Users” list. However, it is a bug that this list is comprised of multisite network users, rather than the users of the individual site.

  • Hi there @eizzumdm,

Currently, MailPoet isn’t fully compatible with Multisite. It does work, but with the caveat, as you have found that the network users populate on each site MailPoet is used on rather than working on a site by site basis.

It is an active feature request to change this behavior but at this time we don’t have any immediate plans.
