Cannot delete NextGEN Gallery 1.9.8

Hi there
When I go to delete Next GEN Gallery plugin from a site that doesn’t use it anymore, and click “Yes, delete all files”
The screen goes white and it says:“Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in….”
Is this plugin broken?
Am worried because I have this version installed in many sites.
