I am trying to delete a deactivated plugin that I don’t need. I’ve tried several times and each time I am taken back to my home page. I return to the Installed Plugins page and it is still there.
This just started happening under WP 3.5.2.

  • If it is deactivated already, use FTP to delete that plugin folder from /wp-content/plugins/

Thanks. I was able to delete it that way but it doesn’t clean out the database tables that way (if the plugin was designed to also clean up after itself when deleted–don’t know if it was or not). I can check my database to clean out leftover unused tables from that plugin.

But it is curious that WP 3.5.2 doesn’t delete plugins and takes you back to the home page instead.

Well, since you need to run the latest version of WP, let’s refer this to the plugin author(s). None of the plugins on the many sites I run have had this issue, nor any update issues with 3.5.2 (and there are not but a few people saying the same here or on other forums about WP3.5.2). That means this is related to what is on your site.
