cannot delete custom fields from subscriber profile

Hello,
I have made several versions of form and decided on one. There are several custom fields now, which I do not want. I have deleted the not-used forms. However, the user profile that I used for trying out the features still has all the versions of the custom fields besides the one I have decided to use. How can I delete these fields from the user profile?
