• Hello,

My “Contact Us” page is serving a (broken) page from last September. I was able to identify that there is an cache file of the Contact page that is very old: example.com/contact/ age = 13603969. However, no matter what I do, I am not able to delete this page; I have tried to:

    * Use the “Delete Cache” button at the top of the Contact page while logged in as an administrator. Sometimes it returns a message of something like ‘Cannot delete directory,’ and sometimes is just reloads the page.

    * Use the “Delete Cache” button on the Contents tab of the WP Super Cache Settings Page of the Admin Dashboard; it reloads the page, but the 1 Expired Page is still there.

    * Click “List all cached files” on the Content tab, and click the X next to the contact page. That gives a message of Deleting supercache file: /wp/wp-content/cache/supercache/example.com/contact/
    But it’s still there.

    * Delete the folder and/or the files inside it via FTP, but I get the error Fetch [the FTP client I'm using] could not delete "contact" because the FTP server sent and unexpected response. "Permission Denied."
I’ve never gotten that error before when FTP’ing. I cannot delete any files/folders in the supercache folder but can, of course, delete files elsewhere. Why is that?

Before realizing that I had a very old cached page, I switched from Contact-Form-7 to Formidable Forms, thinking that CF7 was causing the page to look messed up. Seems unrelated.

Any thoughts on things to try next?

    Thank you.

    Anyone?

I’m having the same problem with my homepage. No matter what I do, I can not change the homepage. I’ve even deleted the plugin at this point and the old homepage is still displaying.

I’m still at a loss as to how to fix this. Did you have any luck?

Nope. My old homepage is still displaying. SOMEONE out there has a fix for this problem. We really need someone familiar with server caching to help us out. I know one thing, I’ll probably never use a caching plugin again.

Still hoping to get some help here. Thank you.

@rgatl – I was unable to solve the caching issue itself. After working with the server admin and attempting many different solutions, I finally made the decision to attempt working from a fresh installation of WP on a development server. After exporting the database and creating an identical “mirror” of the website on a fresh installation, everything seemed to be working correctly. So I copied the root folder of the website onto the live site, updated the database connection to the live DB, and all seems to be working properly.

From now on I will be managing the caching by manually updating the .htaccess file. No more caching plugins for me!

    Good Luck!

Please tell me someone has found a solution to this. This is happening to the home page of one of my sites.

Susan, I created a duplicate of the page and then swapped the duplicate page for the old page. It was the only way I could get around the caching issue, even after flushing cache across the server. Are you using a caching plugin?
