    Hello,

I want to deactivate the Wordfence plugin. However, when I click on deactivate in the plugins page, my browser goes to a blank page with this link https://[my website]/blog/wp-admin/plugins.php?action=deactivate&plugin=wordfence%2Fwordfence.php&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s&_wpnonce=2119b9846e
    and nothing happens.

I closed the page after about half an hour and went back into my WP admin and I can see that Wordfence is still active.

How can I resolve this issue?

    Thanks,
    Wolf

You can deactivate Wordfence by using FTP to rename the plugin directory. In this case, it is “wp-content/plugins/wordfence/”

If you change the name of the “wordfence” directory to “wordfence-disabled”, WordPress will automatically disable it.

The problem with deactivating it is probably caused by another plugin or the theme, changing the way that WordPress handles requests. It might also be an entry in your .htaccess file.
