i installed imsanity to try resizing images in my media library, and now want to remove the plugin as its not fit for my purpose.

However – when i click on deactivate in the plugins list… the page refreshes, a notice says “plugin deactivated” – but the plugin still shows as activcated (because the deactivate option is still there). If i try and manually remove the plugin folder, and the relevent database entries which i can find – the plugin page then says “imsanity/imsanity.php is missing, plugin deactivcated” =- but i cant find where this is referenced to (in the database or local files) to try and delete it

    Hi,

That’s very unusual. Do you perhaps have an object cache (or perhaps your server does) that is holding onto the settings? Or perhaps there is another plugin that is causing a conflict with removing it? Can you deactivate other plugins?

That having been said, it sounds like you managed to remove it, correct? But are now seeing a message about the plugin being deactivated? Is that a message at the top that can be cleared for this?

Yeah i do have object cache functioning – but i did test the process of deactivating and removing a different plugin and it just worked.

I also installed the wp-cli tools and it was reporting ‘error deactivating plugin’, then the next line says plugin deactivated.. (even though it didnt show that online).

But, then after about an hour – it was marked as deactivated.. so maybe something in the cache was hanging on to it.. but just seemed odd since other plugins were able to be removed no problems.

In any case – this is now removed
