Cannot customize date format in e-mail

Hello, CF7 team,
According to this page, I should be able to customize the format for dates in confirmation e-mails:

I am using this bit of code in the e-mail template:
Datum: [Datum "d. F Y"]In the e-mail, I expect this:
Datum: 9. September 2022
However, I get this:
Datum: 2022-09-09
What am I doing wrong?
