Cannot create new users

  • Hello,

    I have been trying to create a new user in WordPress, but when I try to save I keep getting redirected to a “page not found” page and my new user isn’t created – “This page doesn’t seem to exist. It looks like the link pointing here was faulty. Maybe try searching?”

    I had a problem logging into my wp dashboard a few days ago (403 error) and thought the problem was with my “.htaccess” file in cPanel. This problem resolved itself for some reason and I was able to log in again soon after. However, I thought the problem with creating new users might be related so I deleted and generated a new .htaccess file. The user problem is the same as before though and I’m not sure how to fix it.

    For a bit of background, I had a developer looking at my site last week and I was able to make a user account for him.

    If any of you guys have any ideas or suggestions I’d be very grateful.

    Oh, also, I had the problem when the developer was working on my site. But I told him and he was able to create a user from his user account, and after that I was also able to create one from my account. But I haven’t been able to add a user since.
