Cannot Create Directory

  • I have tried adjusting permissions on the directory, I have tried all sort of different things. But I still cannot upload themes or install plugins. If I log into the server (Ubuntu 14.04) and put the folders in the directory (such as a theme folder in the /wordpress/wp-content/themes directory) it doesn’t even show in the wp admin console.

    Any ideas?
