I get an error message whenever I try to sign up: “An error occured. Please try again later”.

I have tried both google, facebook and normal sign up. Same error all the time.

The email I am trying to sign up with is [redacted]

I have tried to reset the plugin, but it didn’t change anything.
I also tried to uninstall the plugin and reinstall, but the same error occurs still.

Can you please help me with signing up?
    Thanks

Sorry to hear you’re having issues logging in @puffandpencil. Upon checking your account, it looks like the sign-up flow did not fully complete. Uninstalling the plugin may not fix the issue since your information is still stored on the backend of the plugin. The best way to fix this issue is by unlinking and resetting your Creative Mail account. You can find the instructions on how to unlink your account by completing the steps in the following article: https://app.creativemail.com/kb/help/article/unlinking-your-creative-mail-account-within-wordpress

You’ll then be creating a new account and completing the sign-up flow.

We hope this resolves your issue and you get on to sending awesome campaigns. If you continue to have issues, feel free to reach back out.

Hi there. Thanks for helping out.
However, there is no “Unlink” button in my Creativemail tab on WordPress.
There’s only the reset button, which I clicked, but it didn’t solve it.
I tried to sign up afterwards again with all methods, but now get the error messages “Something went wrong” or “Your login session has expired” or same as before “An error has occured. Please try again”.

    Hi,

We have done some investigation on our end and we see an authentication issue between CreativeMail and your WordPress site.

This is usually caused by other plugins that are interfering with authentication on the WordPress REST Api. Could you send us a list of plugins that you have installed?

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I expected that the plugin Password Protected is causing the issue here.

Could you try to either disable that plugin, or post a screenshot of the setting of the plugin? You can find the settings under “Settings > Password Protected” (see the screenshot)

I tried to deactivate the Password protected plugin, then deactivate and reactivated CreativeMail, and then I reset creativemail. I then tried signing up with the different methods, and still get the same error messages.
BUT, I then tried to log in instead of signing up, and then it worked.
    Thanks for helping out!

    Hi
I am having this exact same problem but don’t have the password protect plugin. I tried google and then email account setup ([email protected])
The plugins I have installed are:
    Akistmet anti-spam
    Jetpack
    PhotoDropper
    SEO Ultimate
    Shared Counts and
    Wordfence Security
I already tried deactive Wordfence thinking this could cause the problem but still can’t create the account with CreativeMail.

Sorry to hear you are also experiencing issues getting started @ceilidhhiggins. After checking the email you provided, it looks like the onboarding flow was not completed. You can try to reset and unlink your account to start over and complete the onboarding flow by following the steps on this article https://app.creativemail.com/kb/help/article/unlinking-your-creative-mail-account-within-wordpress. You’ll need to create a new account once this has been done. If you continue to have issues let us know and we can try other options. Thank you!

Hi – I can’t see the unlink screen. Already I see the screen at item 5 to reset. I have tried to reset and this hasn’t fixed the problem.

Hi – I’m still having this problem. I don’t have the unlink screen. Can you reset / delete this somehow or Is there anything else I can try. I assume one of my plugins is causing the issue. Can you tell me which one.

    Hi @ceilidhhiggins

    Thank you for reaching out.
Could you maybe share the email address that you used when you tried to create an account?

It was [redacted] although I also tried connecting my google account which is a different email address. [redacted]

Hi – my account still hasn’t been unlinked/reset. I still can’t use your plugin. If you can’t fix this I need to look for an alternative.

@ceilidhhiggins Please start your own thread instead of using someone elses. (Since the initial problem of the original poster has been solved, I’m closing this thread.)

@constantcontact Please don’t ask users to post their email addresses here. There are spammers constantly looking for target emails all over the web, including these forums. as an alternative approach, you could instead link to a contact page.
