    Hi Grace,

You’re the first to tell me of such problems. Perhaps the destination file at src/thumb/docs/phpthumb.changelog.txt is marked write-protected.

This file you are mentioning has NOT been change since the first version of the plugin.

Do you have enough disk space on the server?

sure, plenty of disk space. The last update couldn’t create a folder for tinymce..

I had to manually via ftp upload the update. There is no issue with write protected. All permissions are fine. Yours is the only update I have issues with using WordPress update.

Are you talking about the tinymce_advimagescale folder? If yes, I’m really surprised, as in the newer versions this folder is removed, so it is strange how you can get an error there.

Have you tried to remove it from the FTP and install it fresh? Do you get similar issues in this case too?

It has been fixed. It seems to have been a malware issue on the server. Closing this.

I’m sorry for the late response.

Excuse me, but on what server? And now I have to ask, how could this malware issue possibly affect my site?

    Hi Grace,

Sorry, I mixed you up with someone that wrote me on the email with a similar name like you had. So, my answer above was incorrect.

Could you please provide an answer to my second last answer above?

    Thanks,
    Mihai

I do not have the exact folder that update had a problem with.

However, with the last two (now) updates the same issue has been happening. I just tried deleting the plugin and then going through the WoordPress.org install via my dashboard to add the plugin again and I get the following (which is exactly the same issue as with attempting to update)

    Could not copy file. image-pro-wordpress-image-media-management-and-resizing-done-right/src/thumb/docs/phpthumb.changelog.txt

When I brought this up you had the update to .29 now it is .30 and it is exactly the same issue.

I fail to see where my server would be having issues with a fresh install of your plugin. I have no issues with any other plugin updating or installing.

The issue was resolved with the previous update prior to .29 where it referred to something to do with tinymce by me using ftp. However, the point is, why am I having to use ftp on your plugin and not others. I can download and upload plugins without having issues. That’s fine, but why is there an issue with your plugin using the WordPress update and not other plugins?

And I cannot even install your plugin without using ftp because trying to copy the file phpthumb.changelog.txt stops the update and the fresh install. Could it possibly have to do with the multiple dots in the name rather than using dashes? I don’t know.

    Hi Grace,

Multiple dots in file names should not have any issues.
I will launch a new version these days. I will use that occasion to rename the phpthumb.changelog.txt to something with dashes. Then, let me know if issues occur during update.

Sounds reasonable. I have no idea what else it could be. I have no issue with any other plugin updating or installing via www.remarpro.com. Very odd..

    Hi Grace,

Just updated my plugin and renamed those files. From dots to dashes.

Please try to updated / fresh install and let me know what is the result.

    Thanks,
    Mihai.

The issue seems to have been resolved. Thanks, whatever the problem was.
