I tried many times to connect to wordpress, but it shows Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
Operation timed out after 120008 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

Tried many things, my website is popnews.hk

    Thanks

Hi there! I had a look at the URL you included, but your site appears to be down at the moment. Can you contact your host, and ask them to make sure that your site is live and your DNS settings are correct? Please let me know what they say, and we can go from there!

    It should be https://www.popnews.hk
I hosted the website myself so I don’t know which part went wrong, thanks

Thanks for the update! I am now able to access your site. Could you please try uninstalling and reinstalling the Jetpack plugin from your Dashboard? To do so, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins
    2. Deactivate Jetpack
    3. Click the “Delete” link under Jetpack and follow the prompts to confirm
    4. Install the Jetpack plugin once again
    5. Connect Jetpack

Following these steps will clear out existing settings, and allow you to attempt a fresh connection. Please let me know when you’ve done the above, and I’ll check your connection once again from our end! If you still experience trouble, please let me know any error messages that you receive.

Would you mind collecting some more information about your site logs, so we can investigate further?

Start by trying to connect Jetpack once again. Then, download your raw server access logs and error logs.

Then, search the logs for around the time when you attempted to make the connection, and look for references to xmlrpc.php and/or Jetpack.

Please let me know if you find any error messages!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I had a look at your site, and it appears to be properly connected to WordPress.com. Did you manage to solve the issue by yourself?

Don’t hesitate to let us know if you still experience issues!
