    All day today I have been unable to connect to the server. Every time I try and go to live chat, it gives me this error: “Connection to the server lost.. please be patient while we try restore the connection…”

    Any idea when this plugin will start working again?

    Me too, I am testing this on 6 sites and need it back up and running. For some weird reason, I thought it worked Served side per each site separately.

    I’ve only had this plugin installed for about a week, and it seems to have a lot of promise. However, I have dealt with little bugs and glitches like this on a daily basis.

    If you revert your settings back to using your own server to handle chats (in Advanced Settings) the plugin will work. It seems to be a bit slower when I do that, plus the chat layout is different. However, for those of you who need it working right now and cannot wait for a solution from the developer, this might help you get back up and running.

    I’ve had this for a few months now and it has mostly been great, except for today and when it got hacked(about a month ago.) On updating the plugin, it added malware to the plugin’s custom script that would redirect your site visitors to spammy sites. I’m glad we caught that early in the day and disabled the plugin, before too many visitors were redirected or google ads suspended our account (happened to another plugin user.)

    Note also: “Deprecation Notice – Message Encryption & Local Server

    Please note, local message encryption and local server options will be deprecated in the next major release. All encryption and message delivery will handled by our external servers in future.”

    I am having the same problem. Yesterday was fine today it is sending this message Connection to the server lost.. please be patient while we try restore the connection…

    I just dont get it why. Any fixes?

    Same problem here, in the meantime, I swap the server option to use local one, rather than their server.

    I will find a new plugin which can do better jobs.

    I have couple of websites got infected by the malware weeks ago, and now they are all down due to the server connection issue, hopeless.

    A bug with a recent server update seems to have broken chat functionality. We’re working on restoring chat functionality. The servers should be up within the next 1hr.

    Service is now restored.

    We’ll be adding a server health/status monitor sometime soon as well as a priority communication channel for users to contact us more directly in case something is wrong with the service.

    I still cannot connect from Iran.

    Unfortunately since our servers are based on Google App Engine and are hosted in Google’s data centers, Iran is blocked by Google from using any Google services.

    As a workaround, you could go to your Plugin Settings > Advanced Features and disable “Use our server to handle chats”. This will enable the use of your own WordPress server as a chat server instead.
