Cannot connect to mobile checkin

Created a wordpress installation at a subdirectory to test out your plugin.
Installed the android and mobile app Checkin through the links in your plugin. Generated and save an API key in the plugin, and then tried to link up with the Checkin app.
On the Checkin app on both Andriod and ihpone, got error “Please check your internet connection, URL, and the API key entered”.
Apparently all these look OK to me.
