Cannot change text “This field is required”

Hi!
I use several contact forms on my page but i don’t seem able to change the error message for a required field. In the Messages tab, I changed this text to something in my own language, but in the front end it keeps saying “this field is required”.
The message field below the submit button is working fine though: it only shows what I have entered in the Messages tab.
How does this work?

Thank you, Takayuki, for coming back to me.
I think I’ve found the problem. I use “Jquery Validation For Contact Form 7” to check the validaty of IBAN numbers. I see that some JS overrules all error messages of CF7, even if the fields are NOT validated by “JQuery Validation for CF7”.
So, I guess the free version “JQuery Validation for CF7” deliberately disables the option in “Contact Form 7” to change the error messages, unless you buy the pro version. Sounds like blackmail to me… (not your fault, of course)
