cannot change session name error

I suddenly got this strange error message. It shows on the website even for non logged in visitors. So it is very distracting. Howerever. The site seems to be working ok.
Anyone who knows what to do?

The PHP warning was introduced in PHP 7.2.
Was the server recently updated to PHP 7.2? If so, can you try do downgrade to 7.1?
