cannot center widgets

I’m trying to do this (marked in yellow)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8xqo970w41tzp0x/Capture.PNG?dl=0However, all my attempts ended in the widgets aligning to the left and even reducing in size in order to maintain it, even though I don’t even want it to happen.
I’ve tried:
1. raw with 4-6 slots (2 for the margins) – the images kept their aligning to the left

3. Place them as images in an editor (I’m forced to either pick side or they will go 1 below the other.
Not sure how to achieve that.
