Cannot center an image after adding a caption

  • The issue happens in the WordPress visual editor if the image has a caption:

    1. If you select an image from the media library that has a caption and you want to align it centered, it will default to the left even if you select having it centered by selecting the center button on the toolbar.

    2.It will display correctly after the post is published.

    3. My quick fix is wrapping the image and caption in a div tag and then center align the div. It then looks fine in the visual editor and it is published correctly. Left and right alignment with caption is fine.

    Does anyone know why this would happen? I chose the center alignment button on the tool bar and I checked the text view and it appears correct. it says,
    “align=”aligncenter” in the html view of the post.
