Cannot buy gift card by itself

    Hello,

    If I submit an order with only a gift card, Paypal does not let me complete the order, saying it does not have valid shipping info.

    So. first I place a gift card in my cart. Then I go to check out. Then I fill out my billing info (still on my site). (Note that the space where I usually provide my shipping info is empty.) Then I click on “Proceed to checkout” which normally takes me to Paypal to complete my purchase, but instead I get a message to the effect of invalid shipping information, with a link to “Return to Merchant”.

    If i buy an item which requires shipping, along with a gift card, the order goes through successfully

    The PW Gift Card product is marked as “Virtual” inside of WooCommerce. This means that shipping is not required and PayPal should not be asking for shipping.

    If you are using the built-in PayPal payment gateway there should be no issue with this. If you are using another third party plugin for PayPal, ensure that it supports Virtual WooCommerce products. This is a standard feature of WooCommerce and should be supported by these payment gateways. PayPal can handle Virtual products that don’t require shipping information.

    I am using the default Paypal standard and it is not working. :/ Perhaps it is because I’m in Sandbox mode?

    I would not think that Sandbox mode would interfere with this function. There should be no Shipping information required for Virtual products in WooCommerce.

    Can you create another test product and check the Virtual box to see if you have the same problem with that product?
