  • This isn’t my product, I do Backup Pro, but it could be your region selection.

    Basically, depending on what Region you select in Amazon S3 settings, you have different rules for how you can format your buckets. For example, some regions allow dots in names, but not underscores, but another region will allow anything.

    So, check that in your settings, if it’s possible in that plugin (again, NOT mine), and that could be your issue.

    @mithra62 thanks for that, but the funny thing is, BackWPup automatically detects the bucket as soon as you select the correct region, its actually not possible to not select the right region, otherwise the bucket will not show.

    I am lost.

    Did you have specail rigths for the user ?

    I am logged in as administrator to create and perform this backup job.

    I mean on AWS side.

    I was not aware i needed to give any sort of rights ? All i did so far was add the bucket i wanted, then got the api keys and put them into the program. Is there something else i should be doing ?

    Hi Daniel, i been doing some reading and i didnt think it was going to be this difficult. Can you please explain if i need to create some sort of permissions on aws side and let me know what exactly needs to be done. This should be documented somewhere. Thanks a lot.

    Ok so i tried updraft plus and can confirm it works perfect, its not my AWS account at all, i fear something is wrong with the plugin or some settings. I can say now that updraft plus uploaded my site to amazon s3 with no problems at all.

    I hope this information helps, i will have to continue to use updraft for now as it seems to work well.
