After installing the plugin, I’m no longer able to upload any files on my FTP server under the WP installation. This means no configuration changes, updates, or even modification of images. I’ve tried disabling the plugin, and I still have the same issues.
Could you please help me out with how to update my files? Permissions are currently 755.

I have file permissions enabled to the recommended settings.
    Spam prevention is all activated
    Login lockdown is on.

That’s all I can see at this point. I’ve got everything else turned off right now.

Okay, try the following. Change the file permissions, disable Spam prevention and deactivate Login lockdown. Let me know what happens.

Can you also share information about the type of server you are using.

    For example:

Is it an Apache, Windows or Nginx server?
What PHP version is running in your server?
What version of MySQL is running in your server or are you using a different database type?

    Regards

Earlier you said you were still seeing the same issue even when disabling the plugin.
So are you now saying that when you disable aiowps the problem goes away?
If so then that means a particular feature may be causing this.
I would do some tests starting with the file system security features and the firewall rules to see if you can pinpoint the feature causing this.

    Yes, that’s correct.
Once I disabled the plugin completely, the .htaccess rules were cleared and I could write to the server again. However, as soon as it’s enabled, I cannot.

I have pretty much everything disabled that I can see, still no go. I don’t think there’s anything left to turn off.

When you are at this state, check your .htaccess file. Do you see any rules from this plugin hanging around?

    (@sjrkar)

No. Thankfully they go away. There’s no remaining bits in the .htaccess file.

Even without the information in the .htaccess file and with the plugin disabled, I cannot edit anything on the ftp server. This is very odd, everything else on the server I can edit. Just not under this domain. I don’t know what has happened. When I look at file permissions, they’re set to 644. As the admin, I should be able to modify these, but I cannot. I attempt to, and they revert back to 644.

Finally got things up and working again. Had to remove the plugin altogether. I don’t know what difference it makes from deactivating to deleting, but I can now access the entire domain via ftp and make modifications again.

I like the plugin a lot, and it has many good uses. So I’m willing to give it a go and hopefully this time things won’t go all wonky.

That is great news. I am happy to hear that finally you were able to resolve your issue.

If you run into any other issues, please open up a new support thread.

I am marking this one as resolved.

    Enjoy the plugin.

    Kind regards
