Cannot Add/Edit pages

  • I cannot seem to add new page or edit current pages through my wordpress admin panel. Every time I try to add or edit a page, it just sit there and load forever. The longest I have waited is 30 min and nothing happen. This also cause my site not to load as well. I can restore it back my re-uploading my database through phpmyadmin though. I am at lost for what to do, I have hostgator support working on it for 2 days and were unable to resolve it. The only thing they thought might be causing the problem is the numbers of pages I have (20,000 plus pages)? I can, however add and edit post though. I have been adding pages through phpmyadmin but the permalink doesn’t work if I do that. I also cannot access the permalink setting in my admin panel either. It does the same thing like when I add or edit a page. I’m on a dedicated server provided by hostgator and have tried to up the memory limit in my wp-config.php and php.ini file as well. It hasn’t done anything. I try deactivating all my plug-in as well.

    If anyone has an idea or has run into this issue before, I would appreciated if you could share your resolution.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Yes I have tried all that and still nothing.

    I have search for a couple of days now and have tried almost everything. I hope to get this resolved soon as my links are not working either, which is frustrating.
