Cannot add photos/dashboard messed up

2 things:
first, I can’t add images to a post. Every time I add images via the file browser and click save, I’m taken back to the website’s homepage (and out of wordpress). I currently have wordpress and the root directory for the blog in a subdirectory on the site, so it’s even more curious that saving a post takes me back to the site’s homepage (not the blog homepage).

Also, the default wordpress dashboard page seems to have the site’s home page information intermixed into the code. So what I’m seeing is the normal CSS presentation for the wordpress CMS and the first few lines of code are alright, however after the line “visit the support forums” I then get all of the code from the homepage (the site’s not the blog’s) embedded on the page, presented using the dashboard’s styling information. Not only does this info get put onto the page, but it get’s put there in three separate instances.
