Cannot add new media since 3.8 upgrade

  • Hi,

    Like many others, since I have upgraded to 3.8 I now cannot add any new media. It appears to load a new image but then it is blank in the library.
    I have tried switching out the plug ins and re-installing 3.8 and switching the plug ins back on and it is the same. I am using the Mantra template.

    Any advice for a basic user please ?

    “re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones”

    resolved my issue. Much appreciated!

    I followed all your instructions … in my case the problem was caused by Wysija MailPoet Newsletters. I can”t undersand why …

    @grafite and @all:

    MailPoet was the culprit with me as well.

    I deactivated, deleted and reinstalled MailPoet and now the media button works again.

    I think the problem is with the upgrading of previous versions of MailPoet because every time I update another plugin MailPoet also updates as well. Very strange indeed.

    Please send a mail to MailPoet support as well to indicate that they have a serious issue!
