Cannot add new ad

    Cannot add new ads, I get the “Error, no Ad ID set! Check your syntax!” in the Add New ad screen, if all fields are filled out and “Save” is hit I get the “Ad Saved” message but it doesn’t create the ad.

    Have deactivated all other plugins and tested with twenty seventeen theme, and I’ve run the “Optimize Database”, “Clean-up Database”, and “Re-evaluate all ads” functions with no effect.

    Internal Versions

    AdRotate version Current: 389 Previous: 381
    Database version Current: 63 Previous: 58

    Banners/assets folder exists and appears writable, reports folder exists and appears writable. Due to the hosting package I have no access to an error log at this time.

    No errors when adding or managing groups, error just occurs with adverts.

    mine was a bit urgent.. so i ended up going to phpmyadmin and edited my old, expired.

    i’m no expert and trying to go through the database is just pain in the butt but i had to do it. no respond from the author for 5 days already

    Check your servers error_log file for anything that mentions AdRotate – Anything is interesting.

    Hi Arnan,

    Sorry for the slow response. Must have missed your initial reply.

    No adrotate entries in the error_log at all.

    No errors in the javascript console either.

    Will provide more details this afternoon.

    OK, more testing done.

    Plugin still doesn’t work with twentyseventeen active and no other plugins active.

    No AdRotate errors in the error_log, no javascript errors in the console.

    In all instances across staging, dev, and live I get the same errors which are:

    Another developer in the office suspects this may have to do with the major database structure change that happened a few versions ago – we inherited the site and manually retrieved the newest version of all plugins which may mean the migration script that was part of an automatic update never ran. This may be entirely on the wrong track but something to chew on at least.

    We have attempted to roll back the plugin to an earlier version and then trigger the automatic update from there to trigger the script to no effect.

    After rolling back to 3.15 we can add new ads, but the date is always set to Jan 1 1970.

    If that’s the case the problem is not with AdRotate but your server/setup.
    Without any logs I can’t say much else ??

    So has the issue I reported sometime back in not being able to see or edit groups been resolved please?

    I deactivated all plugins and problem still exists; started when I did an adrotate update some months ago.
