We run WordPress 4.5.2 with 59 menu items. When I want to add a menu item, it does save it and show it on appearance > menu. However, it does not show on the site. There is nothing that indicates there is an extra menu item there. I first assumed that there might be a problem as I was trying to add it as a sub-menu, but it is the same wherever I want to add it as a sub menu.

We are running the latest WP version, so I am assuming the 89 item limit has been fixed. (Besides which, we are still at 59)

  • Hi ghulst,

have you checked if your theme does support sub-menu items? Some WordPress themes don’t display sub-menu items, which could be the reason for your issue.

If the menu item itself doesn’t save, it could also be related to limitations on your server. In that case this could be helpful: How to Remove the Menu Items Limit for WordPress.

The menu supports sub-menu’s. I’ve done the htaccess vars edit and now it works. I guess that wasn’t really solved in 4.5 then. ??
