Cannot add and/or edit post easily

  • Since upgrade (downgrade) to WP 5.2.1, I can no longer edit as easily as I could for 10 years.

    What is going on and is there a way for me to call to talk to “live” tech support.

    So far I am just getting replies telling me I am posting to the wrong forum

  • There is no “live” tech support, unless you want to try IRC.

    Did you upgrade from a version less than 5.0?
    If so, there is a new editor (introduced in 5.0) that does a lot of things differently.
    You can learn the new way and convert old content to the new way, or try a mix of old and new, or just stick with the old way.

    To do a mixture, you can try the new blocks and use what works. If you can’t get what you want, use a Classic block or a Custom HTML block.

    To stick with the old, install the Classic Editor plugin. Or use WP Downgrade to use WP 4.9. Or switch to ClassicPress.

    Reason for live support is that I really do not understand your questions

    I upgraded to 5.2.1 and that is why I can no longer post using the same post tool I was using very successfully for 10 years. Now NOTHING

    I am very aware 5.2.1 that the upgrade? you can do things differently, Yup it is very different as I can now do NOTHING

    Question, is there a video and/or step-by-step text instruction as to create a new post in the new upgrade?

    I upgraded to 5.2.1

    I’m asking “from” and you’re answering “to”. I assumed you came from a WP version prior to WP 5.0, and now that there is a new editor, you are lost. That’s why I gave you the choices of learning the new and converting to it, or keeping a mixture, or reverting to the old.
    But it’s difficult to determine if you are just lost or your site is malfunctioning.
