Cannot Activate NextGEN Player Template

  • Windows 7, Firefox 22.0

    NextGen 1.1.0 installs, and the activate button works in that I can click it, I receive the message indicating that it activated, and the next status is it shows “Deactivate”, but the application does not actually activate and I cannot see NextGen in the left menu. It does not appear in the screen Appearance > Widgets.

    It seems there was a conflict with the plugin TwitterCounter v1.6 https://ajaydsouza.com/wordpress/plugins/twittercounter/ by Ajay D’Souza, which conflicted with some other plugin installs, so I deactivated and deleted it (no offence, Ajay – it just isn’t working with my config).

    There is a second TwitterCounter v0.2, by Artemev Yurii, but I did not try it.

    Now “Gallery” appears in the left menu and I am now configuring it. Will let you know if I have any other problems.
