Cannot activate Give plugin

    I am unable to activate the Give plugin. It was activated before but found it deactivated today. I have deleted and reinstalled the plugin twice. When I try to activate the plugin, I receive the following error. Any help is appreciated.

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered: a fatal error

    Warning: require(/home/content/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/00/xxxxxxxxxx/html/wp-content/install.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/content/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx/00/xxxxxxxx/html/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php on line 13

    Hi there @leonardswash

    That error points to a line in WordPress core code that checks for the existence of the install.php file within WordPress. The error itself is indicating that your server user (which is different from a WordPress user) does not have the correct permissions to check to see if that file exists.

    This is not something controlled by Give at all, but by your web host. My best advice here is to interface with the host to determine why the server user does not have the correct permissions. There are many reasons that can happen.

    In most cases, hosts are able to resolve those permissions issues for you.
