After installing All in one WP Security and Firewall, I updated the prefixes from wp. Now I cannot access my website at all. I accessed my htaccess file via FTP but it doesn’t have the lines of code to delete to restore the file. (# BEGIN All In One WP Security
    ….
    # END All In One WP Security)

How can I fix my site so that it is working properly again? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    We need more information……

You cannot access front end or back end?

What are you seeing when trying to access your site?

Which other features did you activate?

I also cannot access the backend of my website

I had changed my login page from /wp-admin to /lp but now I am unable to access either.

I do not have a htaccess backup therefore I followed Option 3 from the instructions from https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/how-to-restore-the-htaccess-file-when-using-the-all-in-one-wp-security-plugin-5945
and removed the code between and including “# BEGIN All In One WP Security” and “# END All In One WP Security”

But it didn’t seem to do anything.
on the wp-admin login screen it states “Please log in to access the WordPress admin area.” without the login box options
    Any help is appreciated?

@lymann, can you log into your server to access your website and rename the plugin folder to what ever you want or delete it. Then you should have access to your wp-admin page again.

Let me know if that helps you.

    Kind regards

You can then install it again ??

Great thanks for the quick response and easy fix.
Is there something I should do in future to avoid this potential lockout?

Hi @lymann, the only golden rule to follow when setting up a security plugin is to have a backup first.

Then enable one by one the security features and at the same time test them one bye one.

Don’t enable all of the security features at the same time, that will probably lock you out. The developers of the plugin have gone to length to provide enough information for every security option in the plugin and especially before you enable some of the more hard security features.

I have this plugin install in all my websites and there are a few options that I don’t enable for various reasons.

I hope the above helps you for future reference. If you need more help please let us know.

    Enjoy the plugin ??

    thank you for your help!!!

I too am now getting “Please log in to access the WordPress admin area.” when I attempt to update any plugin.

Nothing has been changed on the site and I’m now at a loss to resolve this problem.

    Any ideas
