Cannot access the custom login page URL

Following the activation of the plugin, tried to point the browser to the private login URL as set up in plugin; browser return 404 error with some message about LiteSpeed server; tried upload the disable_auth.txt with no result; had to FTP in and remove the lockdown-wp-admin plugin directory. Any idea why?
