• Testing out here – running the latest version of WP on IIS. Have updated the theme (Stargazer), and now I cannot even land on the wp-admin page.

Receiving HTTP Error 500.52. “Cannot add duplicate collection entry of type ‘rule’ with unique key attribute ‘name’ set to ‘wordpress’..”

    Config File: \\?\C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wordpress\web.config

    Any ideas?

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

Ok Esmi, thank you. I’m in, and have switched to a WP theme as the rename didn’t cause it to be done automatically. Switching back to my chosen theme, results in a white page when viewing the site.

Sounds like your theme is either damaged or is no longer compatible with the your current version of WordPress.

I guess I could always remove the theme and reinstall to check again.

It might be worth a try now that you know how to get back in if it does create a fatal error. Do you still have a copy of the default theme in wp-content/themes? What version of WordPress are you running?

you need to buy theme license to access it.
