Cannot access Media library

    For some reason, I cannot access my media library anymore. I tried to upload a picture and it said it uploaded but when I clicked on library, nothing happened. I have the most current version of wordpress. Can someone help? I am not real tech/code savy so please bear with me.

  • Are you trying to access the media library through the Add Media button in the post screen or through the menu on the left in your WP-Admin?

    I tried both to no avail. It is just blank on the wp-admin side and it will not do anything when I click the button in the post screen.

    It sounds to me like you have a corrupt install.

    Please go to the updates page and click the “Re-install now” button. See if that resolves the problem for you. Either way, please let us know so we can try to help you further if not.

    I did the reinstall to no avail.

    Okay, what theme are you using? If you are not using a default theme please switch to back to a default theme such as twenty sixteen and see if the problem persists. If it does, maybe a plugin is causing the issue. You will need to disable all plugins and reenable them one by one until the problem shows itself again to figure out which plugin is causing the issue. If it is not a plugin either then it could be a server configuration issue. Personally, I would call your host if you rule out plugins and theme as being the issue.

    It seems to be a plugin. I will now turn each one back on to figure out the issue. Thanks for your help.

    I’m facing the same problem.

    Did you find out which plugin was causing the issue?

    I’ve just found the problem was the Widgets on Pages plugin.
