    Hi,
I have installed XAMPP, copied the wordpress files from my live site, and restored the SQL in XAMPP’s phpadmin. I have also changed the wp-config as according to various specs as well as replaced https://www.mysite.com in the MYSQL with localhost/mysite.
My problem is that only my frontpage is viewable. When i click another menu item, I am taken to the php-admin rather than the relevant subpage. When I hover over the menus they seem to be “relinked” correctly, i.e. localhost/wordpress101/about.
All graphics, themes, widgets etc seem to be working fine.
My question is: what have I not done or done wrong?
    Thanks for your input.
    Kristian

  • Did you carry over the htaccess file? Did you set up mod_rewrite locally?

Hi Andrea – thanks for replying. I did carry over the htaccess file – not sure what you mean by setting up mod_rewrite locally, but after resaving the permalink setting, it all worked fine.
    Thanks again
    Kris
