• Hi there,

I just updated the Quttera Web Malware Scanner plug-in on my wordpress site – which I’ve had running for ages without any issues – and now when I try to access my dashboard (i.e. /wp-admin) I keep getting this error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/thewatch/public_html/wp-content/plugins/quttera-web-malware-scanner/qtrScanLock.php:79) in /home/thewatch/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1228

    Can anyone help please?

go into your server via ftp or the cpanel and rename the plugins folder to something else. that should get you back into the dashboard.

what version of wordpress are you running and what other themes and plugins?

    Thanks Jack – that worked!

I have deleted the Quttera Malware plugin and tried re-installing it however when I re-activated it I got this error message at the top of my Dashboard:

The plugin generated 1 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

I think Quttera just updated the plug-in a short while ago so presumably there’s a bug they need to fix. Will be keeping deactivated for now.

Thanks again for your help getting back into my dashboard!

Exact same problem here. The error first came for another plugin. I went into ftp and deleted that plugin and could log back in.

I have re-installed the plug-in and everything seems to be working fine now, thank you!
