Two days ago I was in my back office, dashboard, updated plugins, etc.

Today I log in and get the bar across the top, with the WP logo, gives me the drop down menu when I hover over it. The name of my site: A Spiritual Paradigm, with no drop down menu, hover over my “Howdy my user name” link and see my name, etc, click that and nothing happens. Clicking the name of my site reloads the page to the front page of my site. NO site Admin.

Read the support for other similar issues, nothing has worked. Renaming plugins, no go. Did a registration as a user, have access to the dashboard.

Next step: PHPAdmin panel for admin settings

Will restore an earlier back up of my site and see if that works. But, curious as to what is happening. Could I have been hacked? Have received several mssgs from my security software of hack attempts on one of my new contributors. Changed her id. NO more security warnings. But this morning, no access to the dashboard.

    Suggestions?

It would seem my security measures, working the PHP caused the problem. Changed the id number back and the id fixed the problem.

Still learning. My goal was to keep anyone from finding my author name. HA.

This is now an FYI when working on security measures. Forgot to back up the dbase last week, doing that now.
