I made my site in a separate directory from my root (public_html). When I tried to make it so that that directory showed up when going to the root site, I somehow locked myself out of my dashboard and cannot log back in.

I made a stupid mistake. In the “WordPress Directory” address box in the general settings, I set the address to “www.mywebstie.com/public_html” and left the “Webpage Directory” as “www.mywebsite.com” This kicked me back to the log in screen where my password wouldn’t work. Requesting a new password also did nothing.

Is there a way to fix this? If not, is resetting back to default settings an option? I can still access my ftp though a client and I have the site backed up.

I am using BlueHost as my hosting provider, if that makes any difference.

if you don’t have any content right now, delete the WordPress install and install in the root directory either manually or with your hosts Cpanel.
