cannot access admin-panel

    (Actually I’m running 3.0.1)

    In the last few days I’ve become unable to log into my admin-panel. Accessing the frontpage is no problem, but when I try to go to the adminpanel it simply won’t happen.

    It takes forever (literally 8-10 minutes or more) and when I do get in everything is blank as if it hasn’t loaded anything from the database. Doesn’t list any posts, comments or anything, and the dashboard-page looks half-loaded.

    The hosting company says everything looks fine on their end, so this is an issue with WP as far as I can tell.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Try resetting your plugins. ?If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename everything except the /twentyten/ directory. ?This will force the Twenty Ten theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can sometimes interfere with the admin panel).

    Thanks for the input. I discovered on my own that it was the Akismet-plugin that was slowing everything down, so I disabled it.
