Hi there, I just recently updated to WooCommerce 4.7.0, and now face an issue that if I cancel a pending payment order (where the stock was not reduced as the order hasn’t been paid for), upon cancellation the stock deducts for some, if not all the items in that unpaid order. At times, the stock seems to deduct twice (ie. from 20 > 18).

Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there @hookclothing,

There was a change in WooCommerce 4.4 which made it so that stock was only reduced when a manually-created order was set to Processing or Completed status. This means that orders created with the Pending Payment status did not have stock reduced.

That change was reversed in WooCommerce 4.7.0, so that orders created with Pending Payment status will reduce stock again. Now, changing the status of orders previously created will reduce the stock of those items due to the change. The best suggestion we can make is to manually increase stock for any of those cancelled orders where the stock is now adjusting incorrectly.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
